Supplier relations
How to work with Umbon Industries as a supplier, and what we expect from the companies we buy from.
1. Our approach
Umbon Industries builds autonomous systems and technology for national resilience. We depend on a supply base that is competent, traceable and durable. We prefer long relationships with a small number of capable suppliers over transactional buying, and we expect the same seriousness from our suppliers that our customers expect from us.
We are based in Prishtinë, Kosovo, and work with suppliers in Kosovo, the wider Western Balkans and across Europe.
2. Registering interest
We do not operate a public procurement portal. To be considered, write to contact@umbon.tech with the subject line Supplier enquiry and include:
- company name, registered address, country and registration number;
- what you make or do, in one paragraph, with your relevant capacity;
- quality and management certifications you hold, with certificate numbers and expiry dates;
- comparable customers or programmes, to the extent you are free to name them;
- lead times, minimum order quantities and standard commercial terms;
- a named contact.
Send documents as attachments rather than links. We review approaches as capacity allows and will contact you if there is a fit. We do not undertake to reply to every approach.
3. Qualification
Before a first order we will normally ask for evidence of legal and financial standing, a quality system appropriate to what you supply, references, and where relevant a sample, a first article inspection or an audit. For controlled items we will ask about country of origin, export classification and the licences that apply.
4. What we expect
- Lawful conduct. Full compliance with applicable law, including anti-bribery and anti-corruption, competition, sanctions, export control and dual-use regulation.
- No facilitation payments. We neither offer nor accept bribes, kickbacks, or gifts and hospitality capable of influencing a business decision.
- Traceability. Accurate country of origin, part marking, batch and serial traceability, and notification of any change to a supplied item, its process or its source.
- No counterfeit parts. Components sourced through authorised channels, with documentation on request.
- Confidentiality and security. Protection of our information, drawings and requirements, and prompt notification of any security incident that could affect us.
- Labour and environment. Safe working conditions, no forced or child labour, respect for the rights of your workforce, and responsible environmental practice.
- Honesty about capability. Tell us what you cannot do. A declined enquiry costs far less than a missed delivery.
5. Raising a concern
If you believe anyone acting for Umbon Industries has behaved improperly, or has asked you for something that conflicts with this page, write to contact@umbon.tech marked Confidential, supplier concern. We treat such reports seriously and will not penalise a supplier for raising one in good faith.
